BlackRoads Records ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Romanian data-protection law.
1. Data Controller
BlackRoads Records acts as the data controller for personal data processed through blackroadsrecords.com and related artist accounts we operate. For privacy requests or data-related questions, contact info@blackroadsrecords.com.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data you provide directly
- Name and email address when you contact us at info@blackroadsrecords.com
- Business contact information for partnerships, licensing, or press inquiries
2.2 Data collected automatically
- Standard web-server access logs (IP address, timestamp, browser user-agent, requested page). Retained for a maximum of 30 days for security and troubleshooting purposes.
- Cloudflare (our hosting provider) processes traffic for DDoS protection and edge caching. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
2.3 Third-party platform data
When you interact with our artists on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or other distribution platforms, those platforms collect data under their own privacy policies. We may access aggregate analytics from those platforms (plays, follower counts, engagement) but do not control the underlying collection.

- To understand our audience through aggregate analytics from distribution platforms (not identifying individual listeners)
- To fulfill legal, tax, and accounting obligations

- Cloudflare Inc. — hosting and DNS (EU Standard Contractual Clauses in place)
- Google (Gmail) — email communication only
- Distribution partners (DistroKid, streaming platforms) — standard catalogue and royalty processing
- Legal authorities — only when legally compelled
6. International Transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to ensure your data remains protected.
7. Retention
Email correspondence is retained for up to 3 years. Web-server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Accounting records are retained per Romanian tax law (10 years). Aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely in de-identified form.

9. Cookies
This Site itself uses no tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set essential cookies for DDoS protection, which are required for the Site to function securely and which do not identify you personally.
10. Children
This Site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
